Studio Arts Dallas  periodically offers "horse
camp" for youngsters 9+ years of age.  Look
for the beloved Masquerita (now known as
Birdie), formerly owned by Deer Creek, to
be in attendance in 2010!   Everyone who
knows Birdie knows she relishes attention
and will be a perfect model!  Photos of
horse art shown from Horse Camp 2009
courtesy of Barley Vogel.  What a wonderful
non-traditional way to enjoy equines and
express creativity!  Check out the
Studio
Arts page to see a photo of Birdie & details
on the event!

DECEMBER 2008
Browntrout Publishing has put out a horse calendar for 2009 featuring the photographic talent
of Bob Langrish and our own Judge's Criminal Justice is featured as Mr. September!  The
calendar, entitled The Literate Horse (how appropriate for a horse as smart as Justice!), is
available through your local Tractor Supply Store, directly from Browntrout Publishing, or at
Calendars.com  Click
here to order!
SEPTEMBER 2008
Capstone Press has published a children's book entitled
The Pebble First Guide to Horses and we are so pleased
to announce that Berry'd In Chocolate (better known as
Hershey), bred by Deer Creek Walkers, is featured as
the representative of the Tennessee Walking Horse
foal.  Each breed profiled in the book includes an adult
horse and a foal.  Current owner Stephen Hampton was
so pleased to see his fine boy in print!   You may view
and/or order the book from Amazon at this
LINK.
AUGUST 2008
Representatives of The Boy Scouts of America contacted our farm and kindly requested that I'm
Your Gold Huckleberry, palomino stallion owned by Deer Creek Walkers, be featured in their
Animal Science booklet.  The equine booklet is designed to serve as a reference for Boy Scouts
when evaluating the conformation of each horse breed.  Huck's incredible conformation made
him a perfect candidate.  We were honored to provide a photograph of Huck for this educational
purpose as we greatly admire the Boy Scout program.  We hope the Boy Scouts working toward
achieving their Animal Science Merit Badge find it useful and we are so happy to have been able
to help!  Possibly some young scout will be motivated to find their own Tennessee Walking
Horse after viewing this handsome golden boy.
