High Country was the last foal of 2009 for us and he was definitely worth waiting for! Naturally gaited, great conformation, and that stunning champagne color all in one handsome package. We anticipate moderate size (about 15 - 15.1 hands) at maturity, a willing and sweet natured disposition, and smooooth gait perfect for the trail. I love his face marking - a full blaze with white going over both eyelids, remniscent of a cross.
We were going with a western theme for foal names this year and this foal is named for the 1962 western Ride The High Country starring Sam Peckinpah and Randolph Scott.
You can see a sibling of this fine colt, Just A Glamour Girl, now owned by Bonnie Deines of Sandy Oaks Ranch. Bonnie says "Barbie" is sweet natured girl with a smooth walking gait. I am so happy Barbie has such a wonderful and loving home and believe this boy will make just as wonderful a riding companion as Barbie has.
Our babies are taught to lead, trailer load, stand tied, enter and stand quietly in stocks, are comfortable stalled or kept outdoors, pick up their feet, stand quietly for baths, exposed to electric clippers, and taken on walks alongside roads with cars. They are exposed to dogs, cats, and free roaming & caged fowl. We use natural horsemanship techniques to instill respect and confidence with their human handlers.
Purchase price includes full registration with the TWHBEA and gelding performed if desired, a negative coggins test, and a health care cert for out of state transport if needed. This foal will be available for pickup or shipping at six months of age, allowing us time to socialize and train him to our satisfaction before leaving. A $500 deposit will hold him until he is ready to leave the farm. Additional photos and information are available upon request. Price breaks for multiple horse purchases are given.
